Read foreign language books.
Understand everything.
Mark words in the book you're reading. Scan the page. Use scanvocab to turn your marks into a personal vocabulary trainer — translations, examples, spaced repetition.
Mark → Scan → Study
One photo per page. That's the whole workflow.
Your analog time stays analog
Don't interrupt your flow
No dictionary detours, no phone on the table. Mark and read on — the lookup happens later, automatically.
Reduce your screen time
Skip the tedious process of looking up unknown vocabulary manually.
Understand everything, eventually
Every marked word comes back as a card with its sentence from your book, scheduled just before you'd forget it.
C1 is where courses end and books begin.
The vocabulary between you and a native speaker doesn't live in textbooks. It lives in novels.

How do I mark words?
However you like — highlighter, underline, or a circle around the word. Keep marking the way you already do; we'll find them.
What photos work?
A flat page in daylight is ideal — but curved pages, café lighting and a bit of skew work too. Tap an example to see it full size.
What level do I need?
Roughly B1/B2 and up: you should be able to read a book in your target language and follow what's going on. scanvocab is for the words you don't yet know — not for learning from zero.
How do I use it?
Right in your browser, or install it to your home screen and use it like an app.
Do I need a credit card to register?
No. An email address is all you need to start on the free tier.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — export everything to CSV any time, with direct Anki and PDF export on the way.
