Currently, scanvocab supports translation between the following 16 languages:

Disclaimer: translation is done by a language model, and it is not equally strong in every language pair. Pairs with English as input or output language generally give the best results. Widely written European languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese) also do well together. You can flag anything that looks wrong, and it comes to us for review.
How do I mark words?
You can circle, highlight, or underline words. scanvocab will do its best to find them.
What photos work?
A flat page in daylight is ideal — but curved pages, café lighting and a bit of skew work too.
What level do I need?
Roughly B1/B2 and up: you should be able to read a book in your target language and follow what's going on. scanvocab is for the words you don't yet know — not for learning from zero.
How do I use it?
You can install scanvocab to your home screen and use it like an app, or use it in your browser.
Do I need a credit card to register?
